Index Forestry is the pioneer of the pre-harvest Koala Spotting program operating in the Green Triangle Region, South West Victoria. Our Koala Spotting program was developed by us and is DELWP approved which has set the standard for koala spotting in blue-gum plantations in known koala zones.

We have been the principal koala spotting contractor for one of Australia’s largest exporter of premium wood-chip product, providing highly trained spotters for the past 5 years and work hand-in- hand in an effort to reach our goal of zero-harm harvesting in the Green Triangle Region.

Index Forestry has a team of highly trained and respected koala spotters along with dedicated supervisors and a full-time OH&S manager responsible for all workplace safety. We lead the industry in OH&S, particularly in the field of fatigue management and fatigue related incidents.

Index Forestry prides itself in continually reviewing and improving processes to remain the industry leaders in ground-based koala spotting. As an innovative and progressive company Index Forestry strives to continually improve its performance and uses dedicated training staff to trial, evaluate and implement improvements to koala spotting techniques.
